What is UP with the moronic calls happening in the NFL this season?! I'm not even referring to calls where the rules have changed. I mean BAD calls. Seeing an offensive player runnnig wiht a ball, watching him DROP the ball while still running and THEN being tackled and the blind refs calling "down by contact". What the h*ll???!! I'm seeing more and more of these calls where even the sportscasters are starting to get ticked off. Is it just me?

US Army Dude- Really? They get in deep doo doo when they make a bad call?! That makes me feel a little better! I assumed, but didn't know for sure.

Refs always suck. no matter what you either love them or hate them. when they make good calls for your team then you love them but when they make bad calls you hate them. its a win lose situation. but in the end you love to hate refs.
i would like to someday be a ref and bring a woman's perpestive into the game but most likely it won't happen. i no a guy who was a ref for 10 years and he loved it but not when the coaches yell and scream at the calls that you make. even the refs have it tough.
but you have to admit without refs that game of football would be even more messed up then it is now. we need NEUTRAL people on the field who don't rule in favor of their favorite team. because if we had that then the one team would get their way and the other wouldn't.
even though you hate them you still have to respect them because they have to put up with a lot of angry fans....believe me there is a lot.

It's just you if you were an NFL ref you would have that pressure on you all the time if you make a bad call then your screwed.. so you cant really blame the refs because they are the best in the business i dont know if you can get anyone else to make better calls they are refs for a reason. The NFL did not put them there to screw up the game.
AN EXAMPLE THE REFS AT SUPER BOWL 40 SEAHAWKS VS STEELERS THE REFS THAT GAME MADE SO MANY BAD CALLS ON THE SEAHAWKS THEY LOST THEIR JOB AND MORE...

It may be that you're just seeing it this year. I can ref as LJ R U BJ and do 10 times better than these guys I think that these guys are refs for other games but they are here. Go Get The D*mn other team to ref tis game. During Bears games have Brett Favre ref. For the Broncs, rich Gannon Art Shell and Al Davis

I think the worst call this season was when the refs called a roughing the passer on a sack I mean how do you want the qbs to get tackled. Yes the refs suck this year.

They've been making sucky calls for years. I'm a Raider fan and I'm still pissed about "The Tuck Call" from the 2001 Raiders/Patriots playoff game.
