Try asking your mechanic instead of us. We don't know the circumstances, he does.

Depends how long it takes to order in the parts, can take longer to get the parts depending on where you live or the type of car might be hard to get parts for, but still he shouldn't take that long. Has he called you from time to time to keep you updated on whats happening with your car? or is he mucking around with your car and then leaving it down the back behind the bushs each day and putting it down as the 'fix later on list'?

Maybe you should cancel it and find a new mechanic if you have to keep calling him to get an update on your car and having to ask him how long is it going to take. Before you do that give the mechanic another call and ask him and not us so much.

Putting them on doesn't take a real long time, but they have to get the parts before they can put them on! They may be back ordered or something!

I ordered a new "orfice" for a gas clothes dryer, it too seven weeks to get here. and 25 minutes to installit! This is a little brass part that is less tha 3/8 of an inch in diameter, and less that 3/8 of an inch long!!

Trouble getting parts maybe?? I had my car in a shop for a Harmonic balancer, and it took two weeks and 3 days because he was waiting on parts. Call the shop up and ask why it is taking so long, and when you can expect to have it back to you.

It shouldn't unless he had to order some part that was on back-order or something.
