I wondered because they will have different birthdates.

Of course. The fact that their birthdates are different has nothing to do with the biological process that created the twins. Children are classified as twins either because they came from one egg that split (identical) or two eggs that were fertilized at the same time (fraternal). It doesn't matter when they are born- if they were carried by the same mother, in the same womb, at the same time- they are twins.

I don't really know what the official standing is but I guess it could depend on....

If they are identical twins ie: they came from the same egg splitting to form two babies ....then yes definitely twins.

If they are not identical ie: they came from two separate eggs then maybe there is some argument that they are not twins simply because they were born on different days.

I would say that they are twins either way because they shared a womb but when it comes down to it what difference does it make as long as they are healthy and happy and loved its all that counts.

Yes, because twins just refers to sharing the womb not their birthday. Sometimes they can be born several days apart even. I know a woman who had triplets, one was born 12 hours before the other two.

Of course they're still considered twins. They just happen to have different birthdays.

I think there's been a few cases where one twin has been born and then as much as a few weeks passed before the second twin was born.

twins can be days apart......birthdates don't make a person a twin.....genics is what makes them a twin.

1 a : either of two offspring produced at a birth b plural, capitalized : GEMINI
2 : one of two persons or things closely related to or resembling each other

techiinacially no and yes you can argue the point but most mid wives and doctors say no and yes, so anyways if its from the same ovenn, there just, not techinacially identically, twins, but in the same sense yes. been a old argument for years.

yes twins are determined by the fact that they were conceived and grew in the womb together....the birthday is just the time they arrived

Biologically, of course, they are still twins. But probably they won't be twins legally since their birth certificates will bear different birthdates. Interesting question!
