Socialists are a new breed of communist, that is like the a Neo-Nazi is similiar. Both socialists however, are different in communists in their beliefs. For example socialists constantly push for diversity (but only in physical sense..black,white, hispanic) however like the communists they aren't for free thought. They both belief in strict government control of the economy and high taxes, but they differ in that they do believe in SOME limited forms of private property and free market systems. Communism failed, socialism is in the process of failing. Whereas all countries are mostly socialist in their outlook (with the exception of Japan, S. Korea, the USA, U.K.) there are very few countries today that can classified as communist. Also communism derived authority from the top and the party system where socialism is more for mob rule, they both sustain a ruling class but socialists believe in giving the mob more power through
voting and things like that. I hope this helps!

Yep... socialists are reasonable and can operate in any situation!A milder form of human love. There is lesser state intervention in the life of people.
Communism as practiced hitherto tend to be totalitarian
(meaning there is state control in almost all aspects of life like faith, economy, civic life, culture etc). Consider the Soviet experience ! May be it is about the survival of the Communist state.

We socialists are democratic. We also believe in a mixed economy, tempered by social justice. Also, freedom of speech and freedom of religion.

Krystal:
Short, to the point answer. Compare what you know about, say, Canada or France with what you know about North Korea or Cuba, and that's the difference.
