No Way!!! I am Sorry if they bother you! But I personally could barely live without 'em!!
(I have several I use in Outlook and word that are great emphasizers of feeling.)
Now comma's and parenthesis on the other hand......
Oh and that darn cap's-lock I accidently hit instead of shift....
