Ancient Greece offers us a wealth in all the areas you listed. Their dramas are still pertinent to this day ie the conflict of divided loyalties as presented in Sophocles "Antigone". We can learn much about human nature by exploring the mythology created by the Greeks as they sought to explain humans and their existence. They produced beautiful as well as utilitarian structures that celebrated life. They became a spring board for the developing mythologies of the East as they endeavored to portray deities as more accessible and supportive.

Greece is the birthplace of modern civilisation. Everything that we are being taught today ,science, philosophy, medicine, astronomy ,
politics has its base in greek history and culture. A quote that every person in the world has a little bit of Greece inside him would not be far from the truth. Alexander the Great succeded in spreading the greek culture around the world and the Romans did the same by adopting the greek culture themselves. It is also vital to node the victory of Greece against the Persians that stopped them from conquering the rest of Europe and destroying greek civilisation and consequently the modern civilisation.

Don't forget about the Mesopotamians! They were the first to create the first written language, as well as invent countless things such as the number 0, wheel, glass, helmet, irrigation system, chariot, soap, sun-dial, water clock, Pythagoras theorem--before he claimed it, divided the circle into 360 degrees-then into 60 minutes and 60 seconds, 12 months in a year, 24 hours in a day, 7 days in a week---all these and many more contributions have helped shape society today. The Mesopotamians were also the first to depict humans in a sculpted form. Their goddess Ishtar, was the predecessor of both Aphrodite and Diana--(Ishtar was the goddess of love and war). The Mesopotamians were also credited with the arch, column, and nail use in architecture. So I would say the Mesopotamians were also great contributors to the world.

In the modern age, I'd say that, first, Britain, then, the U.S, have contributed the most. But in ancient times, it was the Greeks. The Greeks created philosophy and the rudiments of science. And their way of life was spread throughout most of the "known world" by Alexander the Great. Finally, Grecian culture was adopted by the Romans, and promulgated throughout their empire.

Yes.
The Greeks may have contributed more to our civilization than any other people.
The basis of Mathematics, Medicine and architecture were developed by the Greeks.
During this past summer, I read the works of Alexander the Great. Each of the countries that he concurred in Battle bear a city in his name...Alexander.
There are numerous links and sites that tell the story of the Greek Civilization.
I have posted on Link that I found very interesting:

Greece and Rome are the single most influential cultures in history. Everything they've done are things that everyone else has only taken a step further. They were even the first to create Democracy, even though it was a primitive version.
