B.F.Skinner Reinforcement and Punishment means maladjustment in several ways:
Reinforcement- Antisocial Behaviors, for example giving extra attention to the student who is disruptive in class.

Punishment- Prosocial Behaviors, for example punishing a child for truthfully confessing to an accident, like breaking a dish or spilling milk.

Reinforcement can be negative (punishment) or positive. If you do something wrong and get punished for it (ie. negative reinforcement), are you really going to want to do it again?

Reinforcement [ negative or positive ] give you something.

Punishment takes something away.
