He's probably curious, and wondering how to confron his own feelings. Don't push, but just act casual and easy around him - don't be different or forward. You can carefully steer conversations now and then to see how he feels about gays, or even simply "kissing a guy". Hanging out after school, or working on homework together - anything that gets you two closer in relationship and proximity can help lighten things up and perhaps get him to open up a bit more about what he is going through. If it was or was not easy for you to deal with, it may be difficult for him. Just be yourself - buy HIM lunch.... :)

Well, if you want MY opinion, which I'm assuming you do since you asked it, no. Just like I can't go to Peter Pan's neverneverland, nor can I visit the Land of the really great Wangdoodles, mostly because they do not exsist. If you want a long-shot at seeing it thought, you could always take really bad shrooms. :D But honestly, if you are Christian, you do believe in heaven, hell, god, etc, then Don't you think that God will judge you based on your morals? If you live your life trying to help others, being kind and respectful, caring about other people, if you live your life and at the end, look back and are proud of yourself, then I don't think you will go to hell. I think God will judge those based on their morals, not their sexual preference. The bible was writtin by racist, sexist, scared little men, and no matter if it was inspired by god or not, they've added their own little twist on things, probably including the "man only lie with woman" part. Probably for procreation, seeing as back then they were very few, as opposed to today, where we are over populated. If you have faith in God, have faith that he is richteous and good, fair and all knowing. If they will let people like G. Bush snr in, ANYBODY can get in :D

You should assume he is straight until he tells you otherwise. If he is gay, he may not be ready to come out of the closet. If you move to fast and force him out you may risk hurting the friendship you have with him. Just continue the talks and see how he feels about you being gay. Ask him about the girls in his life and maybe even try to hang out after school. If he's open to that, there may be a chance. If he isn't open to hanging out outside of school, he is either straight or not ready to come out of the closet yet.

I think he may already know you are and is just exploring things right now. Just open up to him, he's obviously not afraid of you for being gay or whatever, I mean he bought you lunch, the first step has already been taken =)
