I have win98se ie5 6.0. When I run hijacker, one keeps coming back and I can't get rid of it. HKLM\\..\Run: [ScanRegistry] scanregw.exe /scan. Now, whenever I type the word scanreg, even trying to ask this question, it makes whatever screen I'm on disappear, including Yanswers. I had to use a different computer to send this. Can anyone help me?

Almost sounds like a virus. Try running a good tough virus scan. I would also run a spyware san just to be safe. Either that or a hard drive problem. But I'm not a complete computer wizard.

down load a different program maybe their definitions arent up to date also regulalry update your windows 98 there are lots of updates mostly for security reasons go to download.com see if you can find something else
