Okay, I need to take files from the computer and put them on to a dvd that plays in a dvd player. Is there any free software that can do that? (All of the programs I have tried so far play the disk on the computer, but not the dvd player)

That depends on what format your files are in. Most dvd players play mpeg2 and jpegs for pictures. If your files are different say Avi or divx, then your dvd play won't recognize it.
