Well that means the school is a metal building. That goes for all metal frame buildings, you don't get reception or you get very bad reception. It's not just schools. I know friends who have called from inside a school.

Probably because they don't want to disturb the students and teachers, with chatter from people talking and walking up, and down the halls. If one needs to talk, one can go outside. Most people rarely have anything of importance to say when they use a cellphone.

I so agree. 2 summers ago, before the first day of school, I had just finished freshman orientation, and was trying to call my dad to tell him to pick me up, and he could barely hear a word I was saying/vice versa.
