I read about half of it because I found it in a classroom and was bored. I hated it- the writing style is terrible. Vampires... there is one that comes to mind, I can't remember what it's called, I think it starts with a t. There is a picture of a girl with very white arms holding a red apple on the cover. Sci-fi- the Dune books are good, I prefer fantasy and like anything by Tolkien or Terry Brooks.

I haven't read Cirque Du Freak, so I can't say anything about them. But I can recommend Twilight by Stephenie Meyer and its sequel New Moon. Peeps by Scott Westerfeld and its sequel Last Days. Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz.

For a "vampire book" with a unique perspective, I would highly recommend "Fledgling" by Octavia Butler.
Octavia Butler, who died in an accident this year was also one of the most brilliant Science Fiction writers. Ms. Butler novels featured strong female characters and delved into such deep issues as racism, and the meaning of what it is to be human.
