I feel that abortion is VERY wrong. I used to think it was just wrong and then i became pregnant. Once i found out i was pregnant i did alot of reading. I learned alot... let me share some of it with you:

At only 5 weeks the baby's heart is already contracting, the major organs are already under construction, as well as the facial featires. Also it already has nubs that will become arms and legs.

At 6 weeks the baby's brain is forming three parts the heart is beating, blood is circulating, and the kidneys and liver are growing.

At 7 weeks the baby's heart formed the left and right chamber, the facial characteristics are more evident the esophagus and trachea are changing and differentiating into separate tubes, with lungs positioned on either side and an ultrasound will now detect heart motion.

At 8 weeks the brain is growing rapidly, the heart is separated into four chambers, intestines form within the umbilical cord, and muscle contractions are begining.

At 9 weeks the baby is very active, has all major organs, muscles and nerves. The testes/ovaries are formed, and eyelids are begginning to form.

At 10 weeks the baby has fingers and toes, the eyelids are fused, the ears and upper lip are formed, the genitailia are forming, and it is refered to as a fetus.

These weeks refer to weeks after the last period, and most people don't even know they are pregnant- let alone get the abortion by the 6th or 7th week. Many abortions would take place between 8 and 10 weeks... and after reading how the baby is developed by such a short time i just can't see how someone could justify killing it.

I hope that answers your question

And besides there is a MUCH better alternative to abortion- put the baby up for adoption. There are many many couples that want children but are unable to have them and they would be glad to take another couples "mistake" (how you could call a child a mistake i don't understand)

That is a heavily debated question. I'm more opposed to it, however I think there are exceptions. There are the cases where the girl gets rapped by her brother or whoever and it kind of sucks because it's pretty hard on the child to know how they were conceived. What if a married woman were to get rapped and get pregnant? Would the husband not treat this child differently? Would there not be some sort of resentment towards this child even though they are completely innocent? Although, if someone were to get rapped, the smart thing would be to go to the doctor and take the 72 hour pill. Maybe the woman gets held against her will and cannot get the pill to avoid getting pregnant. I know people that have had abortions and it phycologicaly damaged them. I wouldn't do it, but I'm not going to judge anyone that has. I think people who get pregnant all the time and get abortions frequently are plain stupid. Those people shouldn't be having sex. If you are responsible enough to have sex, you should take up the responsibility of loving and taking care of a child. It's really hard to say, depending on how far long the pregnancy is I do believe it's murder.

You can have an opinion of what you think is right but you do not know what you will do until you are put in the situation. I found out that I am 8 weeks pregnant two days ago. I thought that if I was put in the situation that I am in now I would not hesitate at having an abortion. I am not old enough to have a child and neither is my boyfriend. However I did hesitate. When something becomes real and you realise that this thing inside of you relies entirely on you for it's survival, when you see an ultrasound and that It moves. It is not nearly so easy. I didn't not imagine how selfish or cruel I would feel for not wanting something that I created. However it should be the individuals choice and it is not fair for others to attack them for their decisions, especially if they have not been in the situation themselves.

I personally feel that abortion if chosen is the right choice for that person.
I don't believe it be a form of birth control where women have them over and over again, however accidents do happen and if you are still in the first stages i see nothing wrong with it.
There are women and men who are constantly saying that it is murder, what about women who have miscarriages these usually happen within the same time frame that a women is allowed to have an abortion. Is god or some higher power committing murder when a miscarriage happens?
People should have the right to choose how to live there life's and if people would stop and think these women who are choosing not to bring another unwanted life into this world are doing us all a foavor.. There is one less child on welfare that we have to support, there is one less child that is being abused. And there is one less child that will have to suffer the hatefulness that is in this world around us.
I would never tell anyone not to have children I love being a mother but if you are not going to treat that child the way a child deserves to be treated why not choose to not bring it into this world.

I don't think abortion should be illegal. I see how people can say stuff about how if the girl was ready to have sex she should be ready to have a child, but the sad truth is girls these days that are sexually active are not ready to raise children and until we can educate and prevent unwanted pregnancies, we can't ban abortions. If we did, there would be back-alley abortions which would cause harm to not only the fetus, but also to the woman. A lot of people also can say they are anti-abortion, but have never had to make that choice. Forcing a woman to have a baby she can't raise or doesn't want to raise is like rape, and that's illegal, so how can anyone justify taking her rights away? There's so much that could be said, but this country prides itself on freedoms and rights, but if you take away the freedoms and rights a woman has with her own body... what next?

No abortion under any circumstances. Every abortion kills a completely innocent human being. Every abortion is wrong. Take a look at:

I think it is up to the individual. My sister had an abortion at the age of 15. She is now 28 and married with has two children. She had a very difficult time making that decision. Had she kept the baby and told my parents I can guarantee that my father would be in prison. He is a hot head and would have killed the baby's daddy. I know it sounds a bit over the top but I know in my heart of hearts that's what would have happened.

The only way I don't think abortion should be used is if the mother is using it as a form of birth control

I will not say if its right or wrong but from my own experiance its horrible to go through. I had an abortion because the man I was with at the time was very violent and threatened me to " get rid of it or I'll get rid of it for you". I was emotionally scarred & had a hard time trusting other men I dated after that. I grieved for my lost baby for years. Fastforward to last month, I was pregnant again but by a wonderful man who loves me very much. Unfortunatly the baby died & was still in me. I had to get another D&C or I would have become sick. I still miss both my babies and now I'm afraid to become pregnant because what if it happens again? In some cases it's good if it helps the mother from becoming sick but in other cases...... Its not a nice thing to go through because its something you'll never forget.

No, I don't agree with abortion at all. Even in the case of rape the woman could still have a morning after pill just in case. With all the different types of contraceptives around there is no excuse for having a baby if you don't want one. If you did get pregnant while on the pill etc then I think an abortion would be the only solution if you really didn't want the baby or go to full term and have it adopted. I would just make sure I didn't get pregnant to start with.

No abortion is wrong. I will tell you why. People that support abortion say that the baby is not human and has no rights. If somebody were to kill a pregnate woman baby they can be charged with murder. If the baby is non human with no rights, then how can they be charged with murder. Accordering this this philosphy anyone that kills a pregnite womans baby should not be charged with murder. Their are also other loop wholes in the abortion defence.
