I ask because while filling out an application for a job at the movie theater, I read that I could not show any tattoos or piercings (excpet for one earring per ear) because otherwise I could offend a customer. I just had to roll my eyes at that.
"OMG! Did you see that gir she has tow earrigns on each ear? How rude!"
"Yeah, totally, she should cover that up."

Not at all. I think they can express your personality... ofcourse i dont know how good a tatto will look when i turn 80... and i'm shy of pain.

Heck no !! No offense but the general public DOES look down on it, thats just a fact of life on this planet.
But I do laugh... As the people get older they simply look silly. People often don't respect those who have numerous piercings on the face and tattoos like they would a person who is clean cut and neat in appearance. Alot of tattoos make the person look rather dirty. It also has to do with "treat your body resectfully means you will treat others the same" frame of mind.
I am all for people doing what they want. I have numerous ear piercings but would never display a tattoo or a facial peircing. I have a business to run and demand the utmost respect so I present a respectable person at all times !

nope, i'm not offended by piercings and tattoos... i have piercings myself.. i think it's absolutely ridiculous that piercings and tattoos play a part in getting a job... i look at it this way... would you rather have a "normal" cashier who is rude, a moron and can not do their job properly OR a perfectly nice cashier who is competent but has piercings.... it should be obvious.. i hope one day people can look beyond appearances.. why is it ok to not discriminate against a certain race or sex, but you can discriminate against someone because they have a lip ring.. i don't know.. i guess i live in a different world than the rest of society does...

i'm 21 years previous and have been a mom for a sprint over 5 months now. I truthfully have 3 tattoos all of which could be coated besides..... i decide to get approximately 4 greater and all of them would be waiting to be coated besides. I truthfully have my nostril, my abdomen button, my tongue, 3 holes in my good ear and four hollow in my left ears and my left tragus carried out. I do have plans for greater piercings on addition to my destiny tattoos. yet tremendously lots what it boils down too is society is judgemental. And this is not proper in case you have been getting tattoos or something else somebody will continuously have something to declare approximately it. only when you consider which you have tattoos and piercings does not make you a bad determine and individuals who decide you in accordance with which will sooner or later be judged besides. shop doing you chica! forget what all of us else thinks. do not enable it harm your feeling or get you down! you're your guy or woman guy or woman and your physique is YOUR temple! you settle on in case you choose to decorate it!

It is taking it a bit too far by saying that on a sign. If people don't like tattoos and piercings, then the answer is simple: Keep away from the people that have them.

heck NO! i've personally have 10 piercings! and tattoos are kinda overrated, yet are cool.

Not generally although I do not understand some of the people who have tattoos over their entire body...like one big tattoo.
But each to their own I guess :)

No, in fact I think they are sexy! But unfortunately a potential employer makes the rules......even if it doesn't make sense.
