I think it's either Chealsea or Real Madrid. I will go for Real Madrid.

Real Madrid is currently the richest club in the world, just in the last few years real madrid has had the best soccer players in the planet pulling off the biggest transfer market coups in history. household names like zidane, beckham, figo, ronaldo, rudd vanistelrooy, michael owen, roberto carlos, cannavaro, raul, etc...are just a few of the big stars that have recently played for Real Madrid.
No other team in the planet has had so many major stars play in the same team at the same time before.
Chelsea is probably second right now. Manchester united was the richest team during the 90's. I miss those Manchester days!

I believe it's Real Madrid as well, but Chelsea's spend the most in the market over the last couple of years. Although I heard a while back that Real Madrid's payroll from first team to academy was something like $375,000,000 in wages. Amazing!
