I JUST BOUGHT A 95 SATURN ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO, I ALREADY HAD AN OIL CHANGE,AND NEW TIRES PUT ON. I WANT TO TAKE ABOUT A 2 HR DRIVE, WHAT CAN I DO TO CHECK THE CAR TO MAKE SURE IT WILL MAKE IT OKAY.SOMEONE TOLD ME I NEEDED A RADIATOR FLUSH, IS THAT A MUST BEFOR I GO FOR MY TRIP. THE CAR IS NOT OVER HEATING ????

it's not a must and if it's not over heating it's ok. They do suject that you have it flushed out every so often, it's good prevent mantiance.

although manufacturers recommend a radiator flush periodically, it is seldom really needed unless some kind of contaminant has been introduced to the system. If you have recently changed the oil and everything looks ok...take the trip...If you are unsure about the car take it to your mechanic prior to going on the trip just to be sure everything is ok.

the time is about right for a coolant change,you can buy a test strip that you dip in the antifreeze that not only tells you the strenght of it but also the ph level as well.if the coolant is very dark or has a strong smell to it it could also need changing.get it checked at a local shop,ask around for one that can be trusted
