Battle of Yorktown, in which Cornwallis (commander of all British forces in the American colonies) surrendered to the French/Continental forces. British forces still operated forts in the "colonies" and Canada, but it was over. The British signed the Treaty of Paris formally ending the war soon after.

The Battle of Yorktown ended the revolutionary war but there was minor fighting afterwards. just skirmishes, nothing else.
