I go by myself because I dont have any gay friends, only like straight ones, but everytime i go to gay clubs, im always like by myself, iam a very shy person and so i dont have the strenght to go up to someone and start up a conversation. I dont want to stop going because id rather be over there that at my house all bored, at least at the club i get distracted, but im all alone. What can i do? Maybe if i take like a couple of beers ill cheer up, but i dont know, any suggestions?

Don't turn to alcohol to try to make yourself feel better.

Are you sure you need to be in a "gay club"? Why not a "normal" one? There is nothing wrong with staying home and working on a puzzle, reading a book or watching a movie.

Learn to feel confident with being alone. There is nothing wrong with being single. When you are comfortable in your own skin, then others will see it, and a relationship will develop naturally. If you are feeling uncomfortable at the club, others can pick up on that from your body language or the way you speak.

Lighten up and have a few drinks...it's a gay bar, trust me, no one is passing any judgement, just be yourself. I was the same way at first even though I was actually going with friends but they got me to be a little more of a fun person and now I act like a whore (not literally, but I hit on all the guys). I'm sure there's a dance floor, find someone you like and go dance with them...you will have a good time, trust me

I was in the same predicament as you. I made friend with the bartenders and usually confessed how shy I am. They ended up introducing me to all the fun, decent people.

Good luck!
