So let me see if I understand the question. You do not want any help or advice, you want one of us to set down and write a rhetorical essay from scratch on an original subject. Now which style manual should we use. How long should it be and do you want end notes or footnotes.

I consider it is relatively how it is awarded and depends on your courting w/ your boss. If your boss is looking in a method that would be interpreted as hinting that they wish up to now you - that is irrelevant. But if they are simply curious, or recognize that you've got only recently divorced and are being encouraging or anything, that is another tale.
