I think you start feeling old when you let yourself start feeling old!!! You could be as young as you want, like just because you are a certain age doesn't mean you have to feel that age!!!! You feel how you want to feel, but yes age does help or kind of say if you are 50, you can't do the same things you did when you were 20!!! But don't let age slow you down, life is to short to say I'm to old for this or that!!!!! You should live your life to the fullest no matter what age you are!!!! Just always be healthy and feel young, we all don't have much time to feel like we can't do things because of our ages!!!

Thank you for asking. I am sixty-three. I ride a twelve-speed bicycle everywhere, and am in the last five days of caffeine withdrawal. It has been a bit bumpy, but I am now "off" caffeine. I feel terrific. I haven't felt this relaxed, ever. I can feel that stuff leaving my system. I am in very good health, and I definitely do not feel old. I feel about twenty. I walk everywhere. Briskly. I am outdoors a lot. Mr. Hubley (a neighbor) is in his mid-eighties and he rides his bicycle, also, all over the place here in South Portland. He helps us out at the book sale every year. I do not think I will feel old for a long time because of my inner attitude toward life. I want to live to be at least 106 to I can see what's going on then. My mum was a piano teacher, and she had a great attitude toward life, and she lived to be quite old, also. But she did not act nor feel old to herself. And she always had a great outlook and lots of Faith. My partner of forty-seven years is now 85, and he just returned in a driving, pouring rain from the camera club meeting tonight. So, aging is such a personal thing... I attribute my feeling young to the fact that I hang around myself a lot, and therefore do not inherit nor tune into all that old age stuff that people telegraph to one another in groups. I am outside that loop. I hope this brings some insight into your inquiry. Please have a good week, now. Sent with good energies to you from Chris, in South Portland, Maine, U.S.A.

lol I liked the answer Snowth gave. I, too, shall not go gently into that good night! But actually the question wasn't asking at what age we ought to die, but "feel old" No "ought to" about it. Beside "Old" is what everybody is to anyone ten years younger than HE is. It also depends upon how well you have spent your earlier years preparing for the later ones, which in the case of most people they just don't do. Prepare yourself well, while young, both mentally, physically, and materally, by getting the best possible education working diligently to gain and preserve the absolute best health that you possibly know how, through studying up, and learning about it, and never forget that "good health" doesn't just happen, but has to be worked at. I have plenty of friends way older than me (including one who has just had a major heart attack at the ripe old age of 34, entirely through self neglect) He feels "old" tired, sick and miserable. I, quite a few years older, on the other hand, feel fit, strong, alive, and ready to some day gallop into three digits LOL

I am 55 years old, and don't feel it at all. I walk my dog a mile every morning and every night, and I still wear a size 6 after having 3 children, and I'm a Grandmother of 5. I enjoy doing just about everything I use to, but I also enjoy my own space. I think if your healthy, age is a state of mind.

Thirty has always seemed old to me, and now I'm thirty so I think I'm old. But, I feel the same as ever. The major thing I've noticed in the last couple of years is a growing sense that time seems to be flying by faster and faster. I don't think anyone "should" feel anything at any age-- feel what you feel like when you feel like it.

I caught part of C-span the other night some older woman had this really hip haircut and she was discussing the highlights of an academic book she had written. She was really fascinating, it was so refreshing to see an older person (I'd guess she was about 80). I see far too many TV commercials about old people and Viagra or wheelchairs! The body may age, but many people have very young minds!

I think that you only feel old if your state of mind allows you to! Sometimes illness and pain can make people feel old but I know a lady in her 80s who does loads for the community and still feels like a teenager! I hope I'm like that if I ever get to her age! She could teach us youngsters a thing or 2 (I'm nearly 30 and worried about saying goodbye to my 20s!!)

You only feel old when you let yourself believe you're feeling old. It also helps if people tell you you're looking young for your age. I'm in my 30's - but people still think I'm mid 20's!

I'm still a kid, under 18. I feel wonderful and full of life. I sometimes keep older people young by being with them to remind them of youth. You're only as old as your mind makes it to be. Of course, there are the practical things like health, fortune, etc. that will be an issue.
