I am 18 weeks along. I was wondering if anyone still sleeps on their bellys ? I sleep on my side , but kind of lean on my belly a little. This is the only way that I can sleep right now, and was wondering if anyone else knows if this is okay or not ? I am going to ask my doctor on Thursday, but am just really nervous. Thanks

I'm 18 weeks along too and it's driving me crazy to not sleep on my belly. My doctor said that there really isn't any concern in sleeping on your tummy at this stage, other than you are not comfortable. I feel like there is a balloon in my belly and it isn't comfortable at all to sleep on my belly. I keep rolling over to it though because it's my comfort position, especially if I'm having a hard time sleeping. I do exactly what you do, kind of sleep on it, but also on my side. Sometimes I put both arms under me to hold myself up, but I wake up with my arms asleep. It sounds like our tummy sleeping days are numbered for awhile. I've been told to get a body pillow.

I sleep like you describe, but i also slept completely on my belly for the first 16 or 17 weeks, then I just started to feel slightly uncomfortable.

Wished I had known this when my son was a newborn

Boy, you're gonna be in a mess at 36 weeks!
Try the side with pillow thing, and good luck!

it wont hurt the baby at all, your baby is protected by amniotic fluid. as long as it is comfortable for you, then sleep that way. you will find that when you get further along it wont be as comfortable, in fact there will be nights when no position seems comfortable. but any way you choose it wont hurt the baby. congrats by the way. :)

I slept like that with both of my children and everything was fine with them. I think just as long as you don't lay directly on your stomach you should be fine. Hope this helped.
