Adolescents see so much descriptive violence on TV, that they are desensitized to it. Death and blood and harming people doesn't seem all that bad when you've seen it so often, you're not longer shocked by it. Just look at horror movies. The original Exorcist terrified people. Now...it's almost funny to watch. It takes a lot more violence and gore to affect people now.

Some DISTURBED adolescents see the attention others get when they shoot up their school. Not only that, but they feel that a gun is an 'equalizer'. The people they feel slighted by, HAD all the power, until they showed up with a weapon. If they'd never seen that sort of thing on television, there would not have been so many Columbine copycats, wearing the trench coats and trying to harm people they think have slighted them. BEFORE the violence, kids may have had a fist fight after school. Now...a fist fight equates to the old Exorcist movie. It's not big enough to make a statement because people will pay no attention to a fist fight. Only LARGER violence will get the message across.

Blaming violence on television for violence done by teenagers is the same blaming all retarded people for the lunatic statements of Ann Coulter.

What about the sex on t.v.??! I know certain shows use a certain amount of sexuality for entertainment purposes, but it's ridiculous that Girls Gone Wild commercials come on while i'm watching a show on CMT!!!

I think parents should be more involved in what their children watch.
I think children ought to be limited to the hours they spend in front of the tube.
What goes in the brain comes out of the brain.
