Just think about what your boyfriend (I mean "her" boyfriend) likes.
Just write him a poem. Give him something sentimental... something that you KNOW he will love. Anything that you make him he will love. I mean... anything your "friend" makes.

Wow you are generous. You can do a couple of things. You can get them gift certificates for a night out like movie tickets or a gift certificate to a restaurant. You can also look at maybe doing something like a dinner theater place very romantic. Maybe tickets to something you know they will enjoy like a concert, museum, amusement park, and etc. Get them something they can both enjoy together. You could also get them gift certificates to block buster and then wrap it with some popcorn. You could get them gift certificate to a music place so they can buy their song on a CD.

How about giving them a gift that involves them doing things together

If they are into remodeling a gift card to Home Depot

The She Daredevil may like to book them both (or a friend of his if she is too scared) into a 'skydive' or 'balloon ride' and keep him blindfolded until the both of them were on a plane taking off before taking the blindfold off explaining that the two of them are about to jump out of an aeroplane together (with instructors of course!)
And of course take a camera!
