Why won't my parking lights shut off ? '88 Subaru?

'88 Subaru GL wagon, parking lights all of a sudden are staying on when car is turned off.

Edited to add:

Further research here at YA discovered the problem - the parking light switch on top of the steering column. Duh for me!

Prob solved.

bad relay, or a bad switch under the brake pedal.
