Sorry Virginia is not a very kind state they won't help you. I lived in Virginia for most of my life and it is very hard to get anything wiped off your record even for such a great reason. Call a lawyer in Richmond they will usually give 1 free consultation.

Sorry but a felony does not come off your record. I know misdemeanors do after 5 years or so. But not felonies. If your lawyer could have had the charge dropped to a misdemeanor when the trial was going on, then you would be alright.

If there is a branch of the U.S. military that will accept you with a felony record, you better just join and forget about having the charges expunged; which will probably never happen.

maximum felonies are everlasting. some states enable sealing or expunging information. A legal isn't inevitably a barrier to authorities employment, extremely if not a violent offense. besides the undeniable fact that, some people have personal topics with "criminals" operating in authorities.

It varies by state and crime, but for some crimes in some states you can have the record espunged in either seven or ten years. You would not get it sealed, sealing is what they do to juvenile records.
