I just asked about what happens when you dont pay the furniture bill, but how can they physically remove the furniture from my home, will they go to court, get a police warrant. How can they get it if i won't let them enter the property?

Look at your loan contract. If it says they have the right to take it, then they can do so, but I think they will need the help of the Police. If your loan states you wil have a lien or judgement entered onto your credit report, then they can't take the furniture, & they must go to court & have a judgement entered under your name & then they can garnish your wages & take your savings accounts in order to get their money. You don't have to let them onto your property or into your home without a court order, which they won't easily get. You can actually call the Police on them if they attempt to enter your property without your permission or without a legal court order. I gotta tell you, I grew up in a house that always had the drapes closed because my Mother didn't want to loose her furniture that she hadn't paid for! It was a crappy way to live. File bankruptcy or give it back or sell it & pay the bill. You'll have a stress free life!

The furniture is considered to be their property. They can come accompanied by a police officer to collect it. Also, they can take the matter to a small claims court, and a judgment will be issued against you for the money you owe plus court expenses. The date on which they can come over to collect their property will be set by a judge/ Or they can give it a collection agency which will handle this issue in similar manner.

i had this problem and basically they will take you to court and give you a chance to pay the bill up to were you owe them or even pay it off if you can but more than likely they will just keep sending you stuff in the mail and if you dont pay them now you will later because they will just add it to your credit report . but having the police come to your home more than likely wont happen unless it's like aaron's or renter center because they will show up on you.

If needed they can get the police, because technically the furniture is not yours until you pay it off. If you fight, continue to refuse, etc with the police you can even be arrested for disorderly conduct or somethign.

They still leagally own it until it is fully paid for. They have a right to get it. Just like a car repo.
