((1/x) + (1/y)) / ((1/x) - (1/y))

((y + x)/xy) / ((y - x)/xy)

((y + x)/xy) * ((xy)/(y - x))

(xy(y + x))/(xy(y - x))

(y + x)/(y - x) = (x + y)/(-x + y) = (x + y)/(-(x - y)) = -(x + y)/(x - y)
