Sometimes yes. But even if you have the ultrasound later you still may not find out the sex depending on the baby's position. I found out with my daughter at 20 weeks and th eultrasound with my son was done at 16 wks and I found out his sex then.

This test happens when you are about 18 weeks. I have heard that their is a better chance of finding out the sex of the baby at 20 weeks though.

Yes, you should be able to find out the sex of the baby. My friend is pregnant and found out the sex of her baby when she was 16 weeks. It depends on the position of the baby though. Sometimes it is hard for them to tell if the baby is not positioned well enough for them to see. Congratulations though, whether it's a boy or a girl! :)

I had an ultrasound at 17 weeks and we were not able to tell. Partly due to the baby having its legs crossed, but she also said the baby was just not developed yet.

Its easier to determine boys genitals around 16/17 weeks, so its possible you could find out. I think it also depends on the quality of the ultrasound machine, if it has 3D, it is easier to tell.

Good luck.

My man who's a gyno/ob says that it depends. If it is a boy it is possible to know when you're 16 weeks, cause "they" are big, but usually the right time to find out the sex is around the 20th week.
