This sounds EXACTLY like a pinched nerve. This is a job for a Chiropractor, if that is the case. Some Medical doctors are skeptical about Chiropractors. So was I, but it's been like a small theraputic miracle.
Try it four 4-8 sessions and you'll be convinced (it takes more than one session for good progress and you'll be a tad sore after your first couple adjustments).
Tiger Balm and Peppermint Lotion are great for external muscle relaxers.
You'd be suprised what a few simple stretches before and after bed will do you. Yoga and Tai' Chi (Martial Art) are also excellent if you have the time and energy.
Re-align your Spine and Chi dude.

Check the lump on the top of your good shoulder, where your collar bone ends, with your good arm down at your side.
Now check the damaged shoulder. If the bone is more pronounced on that side, it probably means you separated your shoulder. That's a lot worse than a dislocation, because a dislocation can be reset right away. A separation (where the collar bone, upper arm and shoulder blade all meet) usually never goes back to where it was and is likely to cause problems later on, such as you describe.
If this is the case with you, don't feel bad that you did not have it treated when it first occurred. Usually surgeons only operate to fix the separation if it is extremely bad. You basically let it reset itself, albeit not in the same way as before.

I have not had this kind of shoulder injury, but have typed out a lot of MRI and X-ray reports for the specialist shoulder clinic at the hospital where I work (in London UK), so I know there are a lot of painful shoulders out there!
I would imagine that one of the most helpful things you could do is go to a physiotherapist, who could check your shoulder out and prescribe you some exercises that would help to strengthen the tendons of the "rotator cuff".
(As an extra thought, I personally believe in healing through prayer, and have seen and heard of too many miraculous or quicker-than-expected cures, with or without medical help, to doubt that God can and does heal today.)

Homeopathic remedies.
Arnica for bruising and reducing inflammation.
Comfrey for bone injury (also called knitbone).
Rhus Tox for sciatica type injuries.
Use potency of 30. You can get in health shops. They work. Try to avoid using arm in heavy lifting etc. You may have repetative strain injury.

I would recommend seeing an osteopath. They will actually treat your problem. A doctor will simply prescribe anti-inflammatories and/or painkillers which will just mask the problem.
