it depends on the reason you want to study vocab.

if it is for gre, you have no other go than to cram for it plus the following optional options.

if it is for general interest, then there are many fun ways.

1) speak the words, meanings onto mic, save them, and put it in ur ipod, you can listen to it whenever you are doing any physical work like exercise or travelling by bus. repetition helps retainment.

2)make a pledge that you will learn N number of new words everyday. and continue without break. This way you are bound to learn new words everyday

3)nothing beats repetition. according to many researches, the best way to keep a particular piece of info inside permanent memory is repetition. so repeat the words and meanings in as many forms as possible, audio, memory game, quizes, question answer session with close friend or family regarding vocabulary, etc etc. so in short REVISE REVISE REVISE

hope this helps

flash cards.

Carry them everywehre you go and focus on a few at a time. Review the ones you have studied by either recalling what you have learned onto a blank notepad or use the flashcards to guide you.

I use this method when studying vocab. and facts that i need to be aware of for test.
