You may get an idea of a person but to be honest first impressions are usually not the whole picture and you cannot get that until you get to know the other person better.
On the flip side I think that we all want to make a good first impression. That may not happen but it is in how we salvage the situation that makes all the difference.

Sure, but a first impression can also be based one a phony presentation too. I have, on several occasions, had an impression of a person who turned out to be totally opposite of who they really were the first time we met. Maybe it was nerves or maybe a game but the 'accuracy' can only be based on the 'real' person.

Life has taught me that there are some wonderful actors/actresses out there. I think you may get an accurate vibe on someone right away, but I still think only time will show how much of a mask that person wears.

Yes, if you get a real gut feeling about someone it nearly always turns out to be correct.
