Do programmes like 'Jihad' (just finished on More 4+1) help to promote sympathy for the 'plight' of Muslims in Afghanistan or does their content promote empathy for the far right groups such as the BNP?

I know that they were attempting to show a balanced view by showing the views of both sides, but by showing the rantings of radicals they are doing very little for support of non-violent Islamic groups and consequently helping the view of the BNP that ALL Muslims are evil.

I know & understand that it is the ambition of some Muslims to form their own exclusive Muslim state under Sharia law (Kalifat movement, India), I also know that Muslims who I Know well & class as friends are also completely happy with their lives, something that isn't represented that well in the States

I hope that above is not indicative of the rest of the answers to follow. No is the answer on both counts. There is greater polarisation in this country but I hope as Moseley found out there will never be widespread support for facism in Britain.

I feel the BNP's pain.

and if they believed that, they would be right,

all Muslims are evil.

They act out in your country because they know they can get away with it...
You are foolish if you think they all don't want to do us in.

as empathy means "looking through the eyes of another" it is hard to empathise if you are a non muslim, asking if bigotry or being insular to the needs, wishes and desires of another culture, race, creed, religion or way of life is a more imporatnt question

I advocate "Live and let live" but I have travelled afar and respected other religions, cultures and faiths world wide and have read the Quran, so I can understand better what I do not know or understand

I fell symoathy for ANY human being that is killed, regardless of their individual beliefs. I will never have empathy for a cause that I do not believe in though, e.g: The 'war' in Iraq!!
