this has been goin on for a while now, i have a 6hp techumseh engine for yerf dog and the gas is leaking from the carbourator where the air filter is. i looked at the float and it had a hole in it, had someone fuse the hole where there is no more hole and tested it and it floats, it doesnt take on gas either. but when i put it back on i thought it would run, but as soon as i put gas in it, about 5min later, leakin gas from carb, and when it leaks, its no drop every 2 sec, its a steady stream, so i keep adjusting the part on the float higher and higher so it closes needle with less gas, more and more i did this it leaked less gas and i finally stopped adjusting it when gas leaked OUT OF THE BOWL, NOT AIR INTAKE PART, 1 hour from adjusting it, so i figure let gas drain then fill some w/ gas and try starting it.. no start. so i push down the float/needle adjuster thing to let in slightly more gas into bowl and then start it and it started, but it started and tried to take off on its own.

You will need to get;

Needle and seat kit. $2 seat swelled up and needle won't seat right.

Bowl gasket.(Oring) $2 Good thing to replace to keep dirt out of bowl.

Float $7 Don't fight with it.

Use compressed air to blow out the old seat by removing the fuel line, and the bowl, and float from the carburetor.

Reinstall the seat inside the carburetor inside the fuel supply port where the needle seats. Use the back end of a drill bit that fits nicely inside the port.

If you look at the rubber needle seat carefully, you'll see a flat side with writing on it, and center tapered side where the needle seats.
Make sure you install it right.(flat side first)

You will need to get the engine numbers off it for the parts people to sell you the right kit.

yerf dog" rear end gas. did they know how to fix the float bowl? a person can't just fix a float bowl. when a person heats it up or puts some kind of "glue" on it it changes the pressure inside of the float bowl. and the wieght of the glue'or what ever the person used,is to be considered.then its the atmos. pressure.and fuel.
