Is it possible for people to live in your attic and use very sophisticated surveillance equipment to avoid detection even if you have no reason for anyone to be interested in your life or the way you live it? Strange things are going on around here, mostly at night.

Wow.......it could just be ghosts, who have difficulty interacting with our world due to the dimensional differences. I would only worry if they start to touch you inappropriately.

Can someone live in your attic without your knowing about it? It seems like the best way to check that out would be climbing up in the attic. Doubtful that could happen.
Would surveillance equipment help conceal them? No. Surveillance equipment is designed to spy on people, not hide the spies.

I would go up there in daylight with one or two people and look around. Feel the edges around the insulation. check it completely to make sure there are no wires up there that look like cables. Now make sure you don't pull up any TV cable system. If you find anything strange call the police. There are a lot of strange people in this world and it would not be the first time someone did something like this. If you have strange feeling you need to check it out

Given the scope and brazeness of official snooping now for about seventeen years the scenario you pose is unlikely and obsolete. Too, there are few if any who don't know what's going on. This equipment makes conventional pickup placement phenomentally obsolete. They don't even have to be within miles of you. Or depend on a satellite. Thankfully, it is the end. They know that as well. That's why they do what they do. Because they know there's no hiding what they are, and how they will end.

once the equipment is in place they do not need to live in your attic, they simply transmit the signal. CAN it happen? YES and it has happened.
