I have never had a major problem with Clinton, Bush Senior, or Reagan. So you can't say something like, "You just don't like strong leaders".

Yes, the smirk is very annoying. He even has it when he's talking about death and war.

The main problem is that somebody with clearly very little intelligence can have so much power and can get away with blatantly abusing that power. He has so much blood on his hands I don't know how he can look himself or his fellow human beings in the eye. "Annoying/frustrating" barely scratches the surface of many, many peoples feelings about Bush and his government - despair and anger are nearer the mark.

Truth seeker- I see, so being suave, and polished, is more important than having principles, and class? I will take Bush, over John Kerry, any day of the week. At least Bush can make a stand.
Flip4449- Bush is not destroying the constitution. He is trying to protect it. I know, you don't believe that. Bush is doing the same thing other presidents have done during wartime.

As a President you have to watch every word that comes from your mouth. Years ago it wasn't as bad as today. Take what Kerry said a few weeks ago, see how fast everyone jumped on what he said. Bush has to think first before speaking, making sure he doesn't offend someone or some Country. So we really don't get a straight answer, it might be incomplete, leaving us to wonder. He really is a very smart man or he wouldn't be where he is. So I think many like you say get annoyed & frustrated with him.

If you look at Bush since the election you will see the look of a man that is saying to himself, "Wow, I guess they really don't like me."
His supposed strong leadership has him firing half ****** most of the time despite the fact that he is ill-advised and ill-informed. The man is the most powerful person in the free world and by his own admission he doesn't watch the news or read the paper.
Oh and let us not forget that he publicly lies and manipulates. To paraphrase "As long as I president Rumsfeld will be here."
Oh yes and let us not forget the fact that we are one week removed from a Republican loss and gas has already shot up twenty cents.

Bush is a strong leader. He unfortunately lacks a firm grasp of public speaking. Many presidents had the same problem, but had the insight to hire good speech writers to compensate.

Take out all the politics for a moment and just look at the guy and just listen to the guy. The way he looks and acts is more unpresidential than I have seen on anyone in the White House. When he talks, he butchers the English language. The job also requires a certain image. He doesn't have it and it is obvious to us in America and to others around the world.

Firsly, Clinton and HW Bush were not strong leaders. But that wasn't what I was going to say anyway.

People get frustrated with Bush because he goes with his convictions instead of pandering to public opinion

that he isnt wishy washy on his beliefs. He doesnt sway with the wind like most dems. Not that he is right about everything but he doesnt switch sides to appease.

edit: yes I am. reagan was a democrat and switched before taking presidency. and Sr. come on he couldnt tie his shoes without asking the best way to do it. major flaw. remember ."NO NEW TAXES" then passed biggest tax raise by a republican in american history

Jr is strickly against his base on illegal immagration and he knows it yet he continues to push for amnesty. ( I hate this by the way) His beliefs are strong no matter who or what stands against them.
