My computer is running very slow and and this uses 154,688K of memory. I don't know whether or not this is a virus or not. And I also have 5 svchost.exe running too. Can I delete them also?

Do not delete them. "iexplore.exe" is Internet Explorer. Are you using IE 7? I ask because IE 7 can cause memory leaks. As for "svchost," these are core system files. If you delete these files, it is very likely you will crash your computer. However, that being said, there have been instances where malicious files can disguise themselves as genuine files to avoid detection (i.e. rootkits). If you have any security software, can your computer. I think you should also download and scan with an anti-rootkit program. I would recommend Micrsoft's Rookit Revealer 1.7.1 which is free to download and use. If you do not have security software and would like some suggestions, you can drop me an e-mail.

they're all (kind of) needed.

iexplore.exe is the executable for internet explorer, if you delete it from the hard drive internet explorer will be gone. if you terminate the process in task manager, internet explorer will close.

svchost.exe is a part of windows, it's normal to have lots of those running. they are used to load various *.dll files from other applications. if you delete it from the hard drive it will mess up your system. if you terminate the process it *may* cause your computer to crash.

you shouldn't delete any of them from your hard drive, or you'll find your pc will start acting funny because of the missing files.

if iexplore.exe is using too many system resources, download firefox which is an alternative to internet explorer that is kinder on your cpu and less prone to catching bugs via the internet:

Sometimes viruses can say they are a vital part of your operating system, when actually they have nothing to do with it.
You may be dealing with a virus that is mimicking iexplore.exe
Here is a link that will explaine what you are dealing with and it's removal

If you delete it you won't be in here anymore until you put it back.
