A lot of guys probably take it pretty well. Quietly. I'm sure some do lose it but I've always heard they take it quietly. I think you're body numbs out to a degree. Yes there is pain if it's still in use ( the electric chair ) but I doubt you feel it to as great a degree as you'd think after the initial power surge. Lethal injections probably make it feel like you're passing out. Many have said death is a lot like a drug overdose. The greatest high. With the gas chamber you asfixiate but probably pass out before any real discomfort sets in. State executions are generally well thought out, of late as opposed to hangings, execution by firing squad. That isn't the point. All of us in this world, are terminal, all of us, will one day die. Morally, we know we aren't spotless innocent. There is an afterlife because if nothing else, there is great fear of death itself. People will do anything to avoid dying and hang onto every precious little moment of life they can. So you know your spirit in you is telling you something. That, rather than the door we go through to get to that other side ( death ) is what we all should be addressing.

The electric chair was outlawed because of the cruel and unusual torture involved. Death is not instant, sometimes it didn't happen after the first go-round and they'd have to try it again. Lethal injection is also not instantaneous, but theoretically the person is deep asleep when the poison is administered. Medical doctors say that just because the person is paralyzed and can't scream doesn't mean that Armageddon isn't going on in that person's dying body. At least it's fairly quick and not as gross as the guillotine.

Some people feel pain just sitting on a chair.
Just get rid of the death penalty, then you will not have to wrestle with this question.

It doesn't matter; assuming they are guilty, (usually of murder) they deserve whatever pain they feel, because they caused the victim that much or more.

any con that gets the death penalty has inflicted pain on others and only gets what he/she gave in return.
