I don't think it is Mick Jagger because he sings on the song with her.

She has never said who it is. There has been speculation over the years that it was either Mick Jagger(who sings the backing vocal), James Taylor, Warren Beatty and a couple of others but none have been confirmed or denied. She did a charity event where to the highest bidder she would reveal who it was but that that person wasn't allowed to reveal the answer

She won't tell anyone. There are several people it could be and probably is about. Her ex-husband James Taylor. Also Warren Beatty. Maybe Mick Jagger. Mick sings background vocal on the song. Someone paid lots of money a few years back to have a private lunch or dinner or something with Carly Simon and she supposedly told them. My personal opinion is she wrote it about vain men in general she had met during her life.

Only one person besides Carly herself knows and neither one of them are telling. For years the rumor was that it was Hugh Hefner.
