Well, for the most part, it's set in Las Vegas, but sometimes the agents are on a location outside of the city, in other parts of Nevada (you learn about a lot of cool little towns that way, if you pay attention!)

Las Vegas but only certain parts were actually filmed there. Most of the CSI stuff is filmed in studios at Universal Studios Hollywood.
