Actually,
I am looking for a sitter right now. All of the sitters I spoke with charge atleast $10 an hour!
I live in Florida, so that may make a difference in the price. I babysat last year, for a 2 y/o girl, and her mother only paid me $6 an hour. That was my second job, so the money wasnt a big deal, but I could not have survived if it were my only income. Generally, infants are more expensive than older children. Price would also change if you are going to provide meals, in your case babyfood and formula. You can google childcare rates in your area to get an idea.
Good Luck,

It really will depend on the area you live in and the type of daycare you choose. I am a licensed home daycare provider. There are no set guidelines for rates. I only do part-time daycare and I charge $3/hour. For you, your weekly rate would be $72. Daycare Centers will typically charge a set rate per week as will many daycare homes. I prefer to charge by the hour since all of my daycare families have varying schedules.

around $60 a week....typically $20 for each full day of care.....caring for a 6 month old is lots of work.
