Dunno man! Nuts innit? I've wasted bloody hours on this thing. For what? Some 'points'? I'm not even going to get the most, at least then I'd be the top of something. Its not even like anyone really gives a **** about the answers. Do people who post questions even read them all? I don't. I'm not interested. I bet you're not even reading this are you? Why would you? its boring beyond belief. Is this what my life has become? Jesus, what a disaster.

First of all I try not to ask silly question. I asked a great one tonight about people who ever have seen a tornado and got some really great answers. Try to think up some interesting things instead of just goofy stuff. But you know, we all either work or go to school and have serious stuff in our lives, perhaps its just a way of being a bit goofy for awhile and having fun. However, there are some people out that seem a little off the wall.

Personally....! it can depend upon my mood.

Generally, I avoid the 'silly' questions, try to answer the serious ones with my experience, wherein I hope that it would help the Asker (and I've had really nice feedback from some of them too) with the Question / Problem posed here.

Sometimes, answering a question can take me a while to get done (to my satisfaction), and I can feel as if I need to have a quick burst of silliness ~ and will answer a silly one, or stupid or even downright dumb one ...as long as I gain 2 points for the effort.

Does that help your bored mind a little?
Regards.
Sash.

There are many reasons for coming on this site. It serves a different purpose for each individual. To relieve boredom and loneliness, to give some a kick out of insulting someone; some genuinely seek information, whilst others like to share their knowledge. Not all questions are silly? But it depends on what you define as silly. Alot of people may consider their answer to be genuine and valid. What does it matter? The fact that loads of people come on this site, means that it has its uses.

It is only a wast of time if you do not have the real answer that will actually help the person. And even if the person is not sincere asking a question the truthful answer someone may give can help someone else watching. Because:
1) It's fun
2) We feel useful
3) We feel that we are helping somebody
4) We like to get points
5) We like it even better when our answer is chosen as best answer
6) The possitive reinforcement that we get at irregular intervals (according to behavior psychology) is the strongest kind there is, and since our answers get chosen just once in a while, that fuels our desire to "win"
7) It's addictive

Depends on what kind of question and answer you are following ?
I learnt a lot form the different good, intelligent, strange, unbelievable questions and it stimulates a lot of thinking to answer them. But indeed the dumb questions can make you waste your time. That is up to you.

I am always astonished at how much I don't know despite all the reading and questions I ask-- it's cool to find those few questions I can actually answer!
