Well, my suggestion would be to pick something YOU are interested in. Especially if it's a debate. If it's something you are interested in or feel passionate about, then you will have a lot easier time writing, giving and defending your speech. If it's something you really believe in, then you will make it interesting for the people listening! Good luck!

all those other topics are soo much in the news and constantly debated as it is, do it on something like hillbilly america and why it is they can't seem to improve their income or where they live. or should people be allowed to have pets that others may think is dangerous, like i have a wolf and we live together with no problems....but i live in the middle of nowhere

I would do one on the war going on right now. Very debatable and several ways it could have been and could be stopped. You could also write one on Abortion, poverty, drug and alcohol abuse, homeless, hope this gives you a few ideas.

you can write about the conflict in gay marriage...or your choice in the political elections...or about racism...if you look in the editorial in the newspaper you will find opinions that can cause something debatable...i did that last year

idk i guess stem cells reseach since they can help ppl with rare diseases but it means killing unborn babies... i can be stopped by throwing bush out of goverment
