can getting older ever be a good thing. are we just struggling for nothing. what do we do when our long term partners die? gay relationships seem to be harder to come by the older you are.

I can indeed. Rose P had her beloved Gwenneth taken from her and she wasn't even able to say goodbye because of Gwennth's rabid family. I worry about that myself. My partner is an OTR truck driver and if anything would happen to her on the road I may not be allowed into the hospital room and my mother-in-law (who has not really liked me for all these 26 years) could ban me from any decisions. It is frightening. All we can do is keep going on and loving. Loving is the best thing we actually can do -- that and getting both power of legal and medical attourney on file. Blessings my dear one.

Getting older has it's pros and cons. Time gives wisdom and experience, which opens up options to choose the best way for yourself to deal with life. On the downside, it seems the older people get the more responsibilities we take on and begin to lose energy and find it harder to get through day...sometimes it feels like there just isn't enough time in a day. As for finding another partner in a gay relationship, you will find someone, just be patient.

Gosh....that is really a depressing thought. Actually, I'd think it would be easier as you got older. I didn't find my partner until 2 yrs ago. We're both stable and solid and we're older (me in mid 30's and she is 29). I think we've both sown the wild oats (her more than me) and are ready to settle down and be serious. I can not tell you that I would find much happiness bar hopping and doing the dating thing at my age. I see what you're saying, though. Hopefully you won't ever have to find that out or that it will be a long, long, long time before you have to!

Love, life brings rewards and sadness. If you are fortunate enough to love someone for many years and they pass on, I sincerely hope that you are with them at their passing. The sadness and pain will be there in full force but your love will have known your presence and have been comforted.
Unless very fortunate, we are all subject to the ills of the flesh, diabetes, blood pressure and so on so have FUN while you may. Live, laugh and be happy.
With comfort, hugs and blessings, Rose P.

NO, getting older you can see clearer because you don't have all those hormones blocking your vision and clutering your thoughts.

You will find someone, just wait and see.
