Well, I happen to be allergic to what they're really made of (wheat). It's basically a wheat dough, with sweeteners and flavorings. I'm guessing they put in something like a food-grade wax to make it shiny (like the stuff they put on M&M's to do the same thing).

If you email them, they probably get that question all the time and would be more than happy to let you know how it can be so plastic-y without actually including plastic.

I certainly would have never guessed it was made with wheat before I found out I was allergic to it. If I had sat and thought about it, I would have wondered the same thing.

UGH!

Twizlers are the worst candy in mankind. If I was in a starnded island with a bag of twizlers I'd rather eat my own feces. Licorice sucks and I wonder if thaty crap really is plastic, maybe that explains why its so nasty!

Plastic? have you tried them? you can't tell the difference in plastic and sugar?
