He was the Western Conference player of the week this week, averaging 29 points and 11 rebounds. He had a MONSTER game on friday agst New York, scoring 36 points, 17 rebounds, and 7 blocks. Yesterday he towered over the has-been Shaq with 34 points and 14 rebounds (Shaq on the other hand had 15 pts and 10-11 rebounds), not to mention an 85+ percent free throw shooting touch (Shaq is averaging mid 50s). Yao also made a 17 foot fade away jumper with 1.1 seconds left on da clock before halftime agst Milwaukee (i think that waz da team). HE is playing GREAT basketball, and making centers such as Bogut, Curry, Shaq, and (insert center here) look like lil children.
So my question remains, Yao Ming AT LEAST a CANDIDATE for MVP? o and....

HOW BOUT THEM ROCKETS!!?!?! 5-2

If Yao continues he would be a good candidate for MVP. Unfortunately, this might not happen if McGrady doesn't pick up his game. McGrady has been an excellent player in the past, and the Rocket will need him to step up in order for them to be contenders.

It would be great if Yao demanded a trade to Cleveland and played with Lebron. I think that Lebron and Yao as a team could win a few rings together.

I'm not going to say who the best player in the league is, but a good argument could be made for the following 3 players:

Lebron
Yao
Dwyane

In all honesty, his numbers are quite impressive during the first two weeks of the season. But the question is, can he keep it up?

If he can and average around 23 to 24 points per game, between 9 to 10 rebounds per game, and maybe 1.5 to 2 blocks per game while the Rockets continue on winning regularly. Then I am sure that their will certainly be some MVP consideration by year's end.

Hope this was able to help.

If Yao Ming can keep averaging 28 points per game and 11 rebounds per game he has a great chance to be a candidate for MVP!!!! Keep it up YAO!!!! GO ROCKETS!!!!!!

Yes, centers have dominated the MVP awards in the past. Shaq have been robbed on multiple occasions. Now the traditional center position is nearly diminished. Greg Oden might bring it back. But right now, Yao is as good as it gets. He is a top 10 candidate right now.

I love the rockets, my favorite team, and yeah YAO is carrying them this year instead of mcgrady. I think its too early in the year to actually say this guy can be mvp, but id say he's a candidate after the first 2 weeks, he outplayed shaq! It was great!

Yao Ming is a beast!
It's quite possible. If Yao keeps this up Rockets are looking at a very far post-season.
West Championship is even possible!

Yao Ming. I advise it relies upon on what you're getting back, yet Nash is as consistent a performer as there is in the league. i'm stunned additionally that his broken leg hasn't factored into your decision
