The momentum of an object is defined as:
Momentum = Mass * Velocity (speed)
or:
p = m * v
Therefore, an elephant, which is significantly more massive, would have a greater momentum.
Here's a fun head-game: think of momentum as a measure of how much effort is required to stop a moving body. Now imagine that an elephant and a mouse are both running toward you at the same speed. Which one will be harder to stop?
The mouse will simply bump into you, and will probably spend the rest of the day nursing a headache. The elephant will smash into and keep on going like nothing happened. That's momentum :)

Elephant - because it has more mass.
Think of the momentum and inertia in terms
of the impact of hitting a glass window.
Of course, the elephant at the same speed
would make a bigger crash than the mouse,
because of its massive size in comparison.

Physically and scientifically, momentum is defined as the product of mass and velocity. So given that both animals have the same velocity, the one with the larger mass would have more momentum.

The elephant would be slower because he is carrying a trunk.
