It seems to be ok for men but not women (like a lot of things)

I used to go for a drink by myself all the time. I never gave it a thought what someone's opinion was. I knew I was not necessarily there to get together with someone (whoever) but if that happened, great. I never cared much about what other people thought. Nobody should worry about that, especially these days.

I think it is okay for anyone of any sex to do it. I think people sometimes feel threatened as they can see a person drinking alone in different ways. They can see it as sad "Poor girl all her own" They can see it as a sign of defiance "She's strong enough to just go out and go for a drink whatever people may think." They may even think that person's a slut " Oh she's out to pick up guys/girls." Sometimes part of that assumption stems from there is percieved as being more danger that can come to a person when they go out for a drink alone and people worry about a lone female. Lots of reasons, fair or unfair, justified or unjustifed, but that is just the way society makes it's assumptions.

She is over 21, has her own money to spend, is looking for company or just wants to drink by herself. She has every right to do it and shouldn't be nobody's business.

I think she's tired of dealing with everyone elses bull$hit so she needs a few hrs dedicated to herself!! There's absolutely nuthing wrong with taking time away for you whenever u need it.

it is really ok, men just have to deal with the fact we can do it now and they are afraid they might get caught doing something, and where another man wouldn't say anything about it

When I was single I would do it. I am cinfident and usually get along better with men than I do women anyway.
