A GRO in the Philippines in a bar is supposed to "entertain" the customers. They will usually try to provide some small talk, shoulder rub, sing karaoke and stuff in exchange for either a "ladies drink" (where they get a commission), tip or outright fee. Different bars have different ways of charging for the services.
MOST of them will also go home with you if you pay the bar a "barfine," so are more or less prostitutes

G.R.O.'s guest relations officer similar to bargirl. They take care of all your needs including the intimate ones.
Actually if you are interested in meeting G.R.O.'s you should skip
Manila altogether and go straight to Angeles city. Where the old Clark airbase used to be. Asiana has a regular flight that lands in the now abandoned Clark airbase.

It is the new term for hostess, and as so rightly said on here the usual means of paying for their services is to buy them a lady's drink. Usually coke or orange. this usually costs about three times as much as a beer (one third of a litre) that costs several times more than on the street. That's how you pay for the entertainment.
A word of warning here, in these establishments, if you take your wife or girlfriend, and they or you drink one of these drinks you will still pay the full price.
If you are single, and would like an hour or two of female company, just to talk maybe, it's a good way of doing it. If you are shy, they will make the talking easier for you.

I have always had great experiences with "bar hostess'" in the Philippines. Never once did I get ripped off the girls/women had an early rough life and yes made some bad choices. Say as you will say as you might but most of these girls are good decent people trying to make a living the only way available...................

GRO is basically a girl employed by a bar (usually Karaoke)to "sit" with you for companionship. There is usually a small fee but you're not obligated to have one but the majority of the girls are so hot that you would probably not resist. Enjoy!
