I have found the magazine "Computer Music" helpful it costs £5.99 and comes out every month. On the provided DVD disc is a full free studio called the CM studio everything you need to make "disco" music, the disc also has about 2000 plus free samples for you to use and the articles in the mag are great last month the Basement Jaxx had a say, there are also a few demo programs included. The mag is available in the UK and other counties maybe do a seach for their website and get more info if you don`t live near WHSmith, perhaps they`ll give me a job in their marketing dept ....? Really get your hands on this mag.

if you mean "make" music, then go to a site like www.snarf-it.org, and search for a programme called ableton live 5. download and install.
This lets you create, mix, produce all your own music. It takes time to learn but comes with all samples of different instruments and you can change the pitch and tone and everything - absolutly everything. Professional music makers/producers/DJ's use it.
Every instrument, every noise, every option for changing it in any way! Once learned it is probably the most powerful music making tool on the market.

If you want to create trance type disco music, the program you should use is called Fruity Loops. You can get limited demos so it possible to test it before you go spending lots of money. Only one word of warning......this program is addictive to the point that your husband could wish to spend every waking moment with it, and leave little time over for his marriage.

I do all of my musical recording on my PC using software called Sonar 5. It's expensive but it is fantastic. I don't know about disco but it does rock well.

For ease of use, any of the eJay programs are good...and cheep. Simply drag and drop and loop.....all good fun.
Personally I use Cubase - it's good for all styles. A little complex for the beginner
