My procrastination drives my wife crazy, and i agree with her.
Thing is, i'm not really lazy, its just the hurdle of getting up and being proactive in doing something like household chores, working out, arranging or planning a night out etc etc.
I want to change, but am having major mental block obstacles. Its sounds so easy but i'm having a hard time. I can really try and push my self for 2-3 days, but then it starts wearing off again...HELP!

The how is in the doing. Make your plan and start doing it now.
The perfect book for helping you is Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. You can read it free @ http://www.milliondollarbookshelf.com/.... I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this book and what it has done for me.

From a fellow procrastinator:
Do you have an activity you really enjoy? (A video game? A favorite show that comes on in the evening? Playing cards on certain nights with friends?) Make a list of things to do for the day. And do not allow yourself to do that activity until everything on the list is done.
As for the everyday tasks...set yourself a schedule. Tell yourself, "Every day at time x, I am going to do task y." It will be hard at first...but after a little while of doing the same thing at the same time everyday, it will become a habit.

People procrastinate for different reasons...low interest in the activity, fear of failure ("I don't want to start it, because then I'll see how bad I am at this activity"), or just lack of self-discipline. I should know...the reason I'm answering your question is because I'm procrastinating, too.
Making a list and rewarding yourself AFTER completing your task both work well. Sometimes, it helps me to really think about how silly I'm being. The absurdity of avoiding an important task, one that will make my life easier if completed, is pretty clear. What's more important in life than being able to complete what we set out to accomplish? Of course, thinking this way doesn't always work. :(
Good luck!

start by writing down what you need to accomplish. Then give yourself treats for scratching off something off the list. It may be small like being able to watch an episode of "the Price is Right" or larger like a new car (that would depend on what you scratched off) Even if you scratch off a few things in one day, you did better than nothing. Go with that for a while and see what happens.

do you have a planner? if u don't have one, i strongly suggest you get one.
those 2-3 days that you DO push yourself are the hardest.
the first 3 days of anything, of dieting or of trying to not procrastinate, are always the toughest.
why don't you try pushing yourself that extra mile after 3 days and see how it works out.

Live with it. Don't make committments that require punctuality. Become self employed and answer only to yourself as far as time is concerned. Always be willing to put off the bad things and do the things you like to do

I recommend the book "the six styles of procrastination and how to overcome them". You can find it here: http://www.amazon.com/Its-About-Time-Procrastination-Overcome/dp/0140242716/sr=8-1/qid=1163460274/ref=sr_1_1/102-0038472-3204140?ie=UTF8&s=books
It will give you quizzes so you can find out WHY you procrastinate, then advice based on your results.
BTW, I have the book, and have been meaning to get around to reading it......really!
